Rufus Room is a bright and flexible main‑floor bedroom at Leah’s Homestay, designed to accommodate a wide range of travelers. The room can be arranged with either a king bed or two twin beds, making it ideal for travel nurses, friends traveling together, visiting professionals, or guests who prefer a customizable sleeping setup. Located on the main floor with easy access to the shared bathroom, Rufus Room is especially convenient for guests who want to avoid stairs or who appreciate quick access to shared spaces.
Inside the room, guests will find a worktable or desk, high‑speed 5G+ internet, and a SAD light bulb for balanced lighting—perfect for remote work, charting, or long‑term stays during darker months. The main‑floor shared areas include a cozy living room with a TV, a bright dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen available from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM. A microwave is also available for quick meals or late‑night snacks.
Guests enjoy free driveway or street parking, secure garage storage for motorcycles or bicycles, and one complimentary load of laundry per room. Pets stay free, and a whole‑house alarm system provides added peace of mind during overnight hours.
The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and close to essentials. Restaurants, fast food, the Hoquiam Riverwalk, and the Harbor Viewing Tower are all nearby. The local hospital is only a 4–6 minute drive away, and a free shuttle for medical workers stops three houses down at the historic Olympic Stadium. Rufus Room offers a comfortable, adaptable, and welcoming stay for guests seeking convenience and a home‑like atmosphere in Hoquiam.

In 2015 I purchased this 1928 home and move to Hoquiam. I opened my four extra bedrooms to travelers with pets. A need inspired me to open Leah’s in Hoquiam Doggy Daycare and Boarding. Since COVID it’s just Lady here with me now. Any spare moment usually finds me reading.
