Lady’s Room is a bright, peaceful upstairs retreat designed for guests who appreciate quiet, comfort, and a sense of calm at the end of the day. Located on the second story at the back of the house, this room offers a restful environment ideal for travel nurses, solo travelers, visiting professionals, or pairs who prefer a cozy, uncluttered space. The room features a comfortable single/twin bed, with a single rollaway available upon request for a second guest or an adult traveling with a child.
One of the standout features of Lady’s Room is its pair of skylights, which can be opened to let in fresh coastal air. During the day, they fill the room with soft natural light; at night, room‑darkening coverings allow you to sleep soundly, even if you’re working swing or early shifts. A worktable provides a dedicated spot for laptops, journaling, or planning your next adventure, and the room includes a SAD light bulb to help balance lighting during darker Pacific Northwest months. High‑speed 5G+ internet ensures smooth streaming, video calls, and remote work.
Guests staying upstairs share a bathroom with one other room, and a microwave is conveniently located in the hall for quick meals or late‑night snacks. The home itself is a century‑old two‑story residence with much of its original architecture preserved. Shared spaces—including the living room with TV, dining area, and full kitchen—are located on the main floor. Smart lighting in public areas, free street or driveway parking, and secure garage storage for motorcycles or bicycles add comfort and practicality to your stay. A whole‑house alarm system provides additional peace of mind during overnight hours.
The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and close to essentials. Guests can stroll to restaurants, fast food, the Riverwalk, or the Harbor Viewing Tower. The local hospital is only a 4–6‑minute drive away, and a free shuttle stop for hospital workers sits just three houses down at the historic Olympic Stadium. Lady’s Room is a welcoming, flexible space for guests seeking a safe, friendly, and thoughtfully arranged home base in Hoquiam.

In 2015 I purchased this 1928 home and move to Hoquiam. I opened my four extra bedrooms to travelers with pets. A need inspired me to open Leah’s in Hoquiam Doggy Daycare and Boarding. Since COVID it’s just Lady here with me now. Any spare moment usually finds me reading.
